Yes, you guessed it - this October Talitha will be running the London Marathon!
We are delighted to announce that Talitha has secured a place in the London Marathon this year! We will be represented by Mark Ridealgh, who will be taking on the challenge of completing his first marathon to support our work. Here's his motivation for running and supporting Talitha Arts...
"I'm both thrilled and honoured to be raising awareness for Talitha Arts. Their therapeutic arts workshops have helped provide those who have experienced trauma, violence, homelessness, and those living with dementia, a real sense of worth and purpose in life. The money raised will mean Talitha Arts can help even more individuals in the future, at the same time allowing the organisation to adapt to the new challenges brought about by the recent pandemic. I only really started running regularly 6 months ago, and the furthest I've ever run before in one session is a half marathon.
My training officially started on Sunday 11th July - I am completing a 12 week intensive programme that will hopefully put me in the best possible shape to get the job done. I know it's going to be a real challenge, but knowing that a little bit of personal pain and suffering can help to ease other people's trauma through the work Talitha Arts carries out, will hopefully give me the motivation I need to complete the training, and ultimately, the London marathon. Please donate what you can to support this great organisation."
